About Sonia
Sonia is responsible for business development and acquisition activities, with an emphasis on executing direct transactions on behalf of Focus, as well as merger transactions on behalf of our partner firms. She also works closely with several Focus partner firms on strategic initiatives to accelerate their growth.
Prior to Focus, Sonia was an Investment Banking Associate at Goldman Sachs in the Financial Institutions Group, where she advised banks, specialty finance and financial technology companies on M&A, debt and equity. Before Goldman Sachs, Sonia started her career at KPMG in Corporate Finance Advisory, where she specialized in performing independent valuations for businesses across a number of industries.
Sonia received her MBA from Columbia Business School and BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Born in Argentina, she has also lived in Angola, Indonesia, France, Houston and the UK prior to settling in New York. She enjoys travel, cooking, photography and cheering for the Argentina soccer team.
